Patient Safety

Patient Safety:

Since patient safety is a key component of providing high-quality care, we follow the following patient safety guidelines:

  • All floors have access-controlled doors to preserve security and keep patients in the wards and from escaping.
  • Each person’s luggage is inspected by security agents stationed on each floor to prevent the carrying of metal or sharp objects like scissors, knives, glass mirrors, and bottles, among other things.
  • Red wristbands are used to identify patients posted for ECT.
  • In the patient wards, glass mirrors, windows, and other breakable materials are not used.
  • To avoid unintentional falls, grab bars, non-skid floor mats, and non-skid strips on stairs are provided in all patient areas.
  • To reduce the risk of self-harm, the wards are free of loose cables and drapes.
  • The right amount of hot water is provided at the right temperature to avoid burns.
To identify falls early and prevent them, a complete fall risk assessment is performed for every patient. For the benefit of the patients and attendees, posters are posted.

  • Every potential risk to the patients is immediately addressed during facility rounds. Following discussion in the Safety Committee, the necessary corrective measures are done.

  • By offering ready support in the event of a need and informing patients of the aid that is available to them, hospitals may help patients feel comfortable while they are there.

  • In order to protect patients from falling off their beds, bedside railing must be supplied.
  • The patient’s possessions must be kept in a convenient location.
  • Each bedside has a nurse call system that the patient can easily use to contact the nurses if necessary.
  • Before giving the patient their medications, the nurse must inspect the medications.
  • Each bottle and container must have a label and a lock.
  • Signs or warning labels are placed near dangerous substances.
  • The following techniques, such as rotating a patient toward and away from the nurses, raising the patient from a bed, etc., require caution.
  • When helping a patient onto or off of a wheelchair or stretcher, the wheel is locked in place.
  • When carrying patients, safety belts or side rails must be utilised to prevent patients from falling.
